"This Town" follows up nicely on the strong album Heartaches and Lows
I was completely blown away by The Victim's previous album Heartaches and Lows, so expectations were sky-high for the new single too. Luckily, "This Town" doesn't disappoint in any way.
The melody is fresh, gorgeous and easy to fall for, and it stands in a great contrast to The Victim's soulful and distinctive voice. The verses have a more laid-back feel, while the chorus hits with a clear dynamic shift that really makes it stick.
It's exactly that balance between calm and energy that makes the track so strong. The Victim has a clear international sound and once again manages to deliver a polished production where both the details and the whole come together.
"This Town" is yet another proof that The Victim belongs among the artists who consistently deliver gorgeous tracks with high quality and real musicality.
